Having recently been awarded our fifth Green flag for our efforts relating to Biodiversity Theme, we congratulate all the pupils, staff, parents and wider community associated with the school, for the huge amount work and dedication they gave to helping our school environment and reducing our carbon footprint. Our many teams of Litter pickers have ensured our school was kept tidy over the last number of years and indeed continue to do such great work around the school encouraging us all to keep the school litter free and promoting the well known practice of ‘reducing, reusing and recycling’.
We are so proud of our 5 Flags which can be seen at the entrance gate of the school each one representing our work to date on the themes of Litter and Waste, Energy, Water, Travel and the most recent one for Biodiversity. Congratulations everyone! |
The Energy Squads, elected every year from the senior classes, continue to keep a close watch on the energy usage in the school and are always vigilant about switching lights off when classes are empty.
|
The Water Wizards do great work ensuring our water usage is kept to a minimum and the addition of the new Water Butt ensures the rain water is reused for watering the plants in the Wild life Garden.

Over the last two years of the Green Schools Programme we have worked hard on the theme of Travel, highlighting the benefits of walking, cycling and scooting to school with our many W.O.W, C.O.W and S.O.W days as well as promoting the whole Travel Theme with presentations on sustainable and healthy living, the repetition of our many Travel surveys and encouraging the uptake of cycling and active living for the good of all concerned.
