The wonderful girls of Fifth Class 2015/16
Fourth and fifth class enjoyed the inspirational visit of Kieran Crowley, author of 'The Mighty Dynamo'.
We kicked off Active Week with our 'Get Active Rap'.
- Irish Aid Workshop on Food and Farming in Africa
- Through activities, games and music fifth class explored the links between our lives and the lives of children and their families living in developing countries. We also learnt how protecting the environment can help to improve the lives of people in poor countries. Many thanks to Irish Aid for a most enjoyable day out.

Cool Dudes-Healthy Food Made Easy
Fifth class are very lucky to be taking part in the Cool Dudes program. The aims of this HSE funded program are to encourage healthy eating, to improve our knowledge of nutrition and to learn to cook delicious foods. We made healthy pizzas, vegetable soup, brown scones, fruit salad and banana buns.
Hard at work in the garden!
Fifth class had great fun on the 1916 Freedom Tour.
We visited the key locations of the battle as it unfolded in 1916 on a military style tour truck.
Grab a prop and strike a pose! Merry Christmas!
Fifth class really enjoyed creating their shadow puppet projects with Ms. Potts.
We studied The Great Irish Famine in history.
BizWorld
We were so excited to welcome BizWorld to Our Lady of Mercy. During this workshop we worked as directors of company teams and learned all about the world of business. We pitched to a real life Dragon/Venture Capitalist to raise the capital for our companies.
Art work inspired by Salvador Dali.
Check out our individual projects on New Zealand and the Maoris.
