Active School Week 2024
We had a fantastic week celebrating Active School Week from the 17th to the 21st of June. The girls loved every minute of all that was planned for them with Tag Rugby, Gymnastics, Dance Routines, Mr O Boyle's Athletics and of course the much loved Sports Days. Special thanks to Mrs Parkinson who worked so hard organising, planning and overseeing every last detail of what was, a hugely successful wee.

The week of June 8th -12th, should have been Active School Week, but this year, we had a slightly different form of week with our Active Home Week. Thanks again to Mrs Parkinson's hard work and creative mind, our focus for the week was on outdoor pursuits and physical activities and the many benefits we get from them as reflected in the photos received already this week.....

We are all geared up for Active School Week which begins next Mon the 10th to Fri 14th of June. This is a week when we promote in a very special way the value of physical well-being.
The girls should come to school in PE gear every day next week and ensure they have applied sun protection each morning before leaving home. They should also bring an extra container of water each day.
The outline for the week is as follows:
Monday: Golf Lesson for all classes given by the Birdie Golf Academy
Tuesday: Wake Up Shake Up (5th Class)
Senior Side Sports Day. (2nd to 6th Class)**
Play-ball for Infants
Wednesday: Scooter Day which involves prizes for
the best scooters and scooter allocated time for every class in the yard
Thursday: Walk a Mile with A Smile
Junior Side Sports Day. (Jn Infts - 1st )
Friday: Wear your Jersey Day/Active Outfit Day
Wake Up Shake Up (5th Class)
Active Lines in the morning, at break and at
lunch.
*** Our Special Assembly to mark the end of Active Schools Week when we will all get to meet 5 Professional Sports People who will share insights into their life on the playing fields

Don't forget to send in your favourite photograph to Ms Parkinson on 'Being Active' before next Thursday the 13th of June for final adjudication.
All photos will be displayed on the gallery wall inside the main door of the school.
*Parents are welcome to attend the races on Tuesday and Thursday.
