Healthy Living and International Week Feb 2022
The celebration of a combined International Week and Healthy Eating and Living Week formed the focus of our work and conversations in school for the week January 17th -21st.
The girls learnt all about healthy foods and treats and enjoyed the benefits of lots of exercise and outdoor activities. We also celebrated the different cultures, traditions and languages of our many international pupils and gained such an insight about life in their home countries from all they had to share with us. It was a great success and we all agreed it brought lots of much-needed fun too!

Healthy Eating and Living Week
January 22nd to 26th January 2018
What a fantastic week we had to mark Healthy Living Week here in the school. A huge thanks must go to all on the Parents Association team under the direction of Hilary Campbell and Eleanor McGovern. The amount of work and time they put into organising the week was fantastic. Indeed thanks to all the parents in the school for all your generous contributions and making it such a success.
Our School Walk a Mile on Monday was a great kick start to our exercise plan followed by early morning Yoga for the Staff on Wednesday with Ruth Delahunty. Throughout the week classes could be seen jogging, skipping, exercising and dancing, finishing with a very upbeat Wake Up Shake Up led by our 5th Class girls.

The fabulous fruit platters, sponsored by Marks and Spencers and put together by the Parents Association, were a welcome feast for all the girls on Monday. The very generous daily, donation of Mc Cambridge's Brown Bread, ensured everyone enjoyed a healthy lunch all week Thanks also to Supervalu for their generous provision of beautiful fresh fruit for every girl on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and to Glenisk Foods for their generous donation of Low Fat Yogurts to every child in the school and to Poppercorn for the extra big bags of Popcorn which were enjoyed by all.
The girls from 1st to 6th had a most informed talk on the benefits of dental hygiene from Eleanor McGovern on Tuesday so no excuses for anyone not keeping their teeth cleaned. Thanks to Martha de Buitléir for sharing her expertise and knowledge on the many benefits of 'easy breathing'. The girls in 5th and 6th found her presentation to be 'really calming' and very interesting. Christina Penny's visit and presentation to 5th and 6th Class on Positive Thinking and Mental Health was so well received and left them all feeling very good about themselves. The final day's Food Buffet in the hall arranged and organised by the PA was something extra special indeed. The choice of fresh food and healthy options far exceeded all our expectations and the addition of the background music added to the atmosphere of the whole event.

It was simply fantastic and we are all truly grateful to the PA and all those who supported the week long event.
